In the last 10 years of my life I have learned so much about success and adversity from the info that the LIFE Business offers.  Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady have really laid a foundation of great core teaching.  I love watching a good movie that has all the adversity and set backs for the character and they fight to victory.  I really like them when they are based on a true story.

My mentor Bill Lewis just wrote an article about this topic and I thought it would be great to share it though my blog and have you be able to read it.  Keep in mind as you read Bill Lewis’s article, that he mentors a bunch of financially free people and leads thousands of people on their freedom journey.  He has a unique perspective on this topic as he get a front row seat to how they handle ” set backs.”

How Do You Handle Setbacks?

As many of you that read my blog know, I have a lot of contact with people that are on the journey of success. This gives me a great window to view how people react to failures. What has become very evident is that the way a person views his failures will ultimately determine his overall success. I have seen it both ways. I have seen the person who gets knocked down again and again but continues to get back up and fight for his victory. And I have also seen the person who doesn’t get knocked down but gives in to failure anyway because it looks like he is going to get knocked down. If you can take a hard look at how you view failures and get back up every time, then success is yours. As I talk about this, do not take this as me looking down on people who have failed. I know that the majority of people have never been taught the principles of success. I failed for 28 years of my life until I was exposed to the LIFE business and my mentor Orrin Woodward. That is why we need to talk about it, so we can learn to view it through the correct lens.

I hope this blog was a blessing to you.  I love info like this, its the difference between winners and losers.

Giving Kids an EDGE

Posted: November 24, 2012 in Uncategorized

I am so glad to be a part of a company that finds it important to reach out and teach the next generation about success.  Orrin Woodward and the LIFE founders developed this series and its been a total hit.  We all know that knowledge is power, but we don’t always live like we know it.  The EDGE series is a great way to get youth to realize that habits lead to actions and actions lead to results.  I would recommend that everyone should sponsor a young person on this series and meet with them once a month to discuss what the cd was about and what they learned.  Its only $10 a month but the info will be priceless to an emerging generation.

Orrin Woodward did an article on this just recently, I am attaching it here.  Its got some great info.

Chris Brady did it again. For months, he kept a torrent pace of emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings to influence me on the importance of LIFE skills training for youth. The results of his efforts have blown us all away. The Edge Series alone is surging past 6,000 subscribers! In fact, many of the kids are earning the money and paying for their own subscription. How do I know this? Because anyone 12 years old or above can attend a LIFE event, and the amount of adolescent boys and girls attending seminars has increased dramatically. When I speak across the USA and Canada, I routinely have multiple boys and girls, dressed in business attire, tell me their story as they ask me to sign a book or their Edge Subscription.

Leadership and life skills are crucial in a person’s life. Why wait until after the school years to realize this? Why not give your kids an EDGE? The first EDGE is parents who model the right behaviors, and the second is the Edge Series delivered directly to the home of hungry kids wanting to learn the principles of success. Packed full of stories from the successful men and women in the LIFE business, along with exclusive interviews with top names in athletics and business, the Edge Series has become one of the favorite products in LIFE. What the Mental Fitness Challenge is to adults, the Edge Series is for youth. A huge thank you goes to Chris Brady and all of the speakers who have made the Edge Series what it is. Below is a video that describes the Edge Series.

It’s amazing how many people are upset right now about the future.  I am glad that people are getting upset, thats when things will start to change.  It’s like a big wakeup call.  I read this article the other day and thought it was pretty interesting.  I would like to share it with you.

Why We Need a Third Party

In the aftermath of the 2012 election, there have been numerous emails, posts, articles and blogs by business owners who say they are planning to sell or close their businesses, or just lay off enough workers that they can afford Obamacare for the employees who remain.

One summary listed the following announced layoffs—all attempts to deal with the new costs of Obamacare:

  • Welch Allyn, 275 layoffs
  • Stryker, 1170 layoffs
  • Boston Scientific, between 1200 and 1400 layoffs
  • Medtronic, 1000 layoffs
  • Smith and Nephew, 770 layoffs
  • Hill Rom, 200 layoffs
  • Kinetic Concepts, 427 layoffs
  • Coviden, 595 layoffs
  • Abbot Labs, 427 layoffs
  • St. June Medical, 300 layoffs

There are many, many others.

One email dated November 7, the day after the election, read:

“Time to sell our business. We can no longer afford to provide a living for 14 employees as soon we’re forced to pay for their healthcare. So sad, too bad. On to new ventures.”

It’s good to see people getting upset when they start to lose freedom.  It’s when they don’t get upset, you should worry.  Don’t think that someone else is gonna fix it though.  A great saying for us all to live by should be “If it is to be it’s up to me.”

thanks for reading

To whom it may concern,

A new book called Leader Shift, is coming out April 16th 2013.  This book was written by Orrin Woodward and Oliver DeMille.  What appropriate timing.  It seems that everywhere I go people are upset about freedom today.  I know that most people don’t understand the topics and the impact that they have. Woodward and DeMille definitely do, that is why they wrote this book.

I interviewed Woodward last saturday in Grand Rapids Michigan in front of thousands of people.  I asked him to tell us a little about this book, in about 2-5 minutes of his explanation the crowd went crazy.  I believe that this book will be a game changer for Americans.  The book is a fable in which a problem is shown and a solution is given.  I can’t wait to get my hands on this book.  It’s very important to have knowledge about the important things that we need to know about freedom.

I would like to ask you one favor, please dig in and learn about the true pieces of freedom.  I always tell people that we are either part of the problem or part of the solution, but we cant be both.

Oliver’s other recent book is 1913 and is an amazing read also.  Click here if you would like to find where you can purchase this book.

Dig in, Freedom’s worth it,

I remember when I thought that you either like people or you don’t and if they don’t like you, too bad.  It was a very ignorant stance that I had.  Now that I know how important people skills and relationships are, it makes me sad to think of all the train wrecks thats I have left behind me.

A great article was written by Orrin Woodward about this topic.

All Business is Relationships

I have learned many things over the twenty years of running my own businesses—in areas as diverse as finances, marketing, leadership of people, and management of the numbers. However, I believe the number one factor in building a successful enterprise is relationships. Tell me how a company consistently treats its people—inside employees, outside vendors, and its customers—and I can predict the longevity of the firm. Simply stated, all business is relationships; therefore, a person will never develop a following until he develops some people skills. In the video below, I teach some key points to remember when working with others. Of course, no one is going to make everyone happy because some are only happy when they are unhappy. :) Nonetheless, people skills are essential when working with the right people to build long-term relationships.
